Our Planet Earth

 Hello Aliens,

Today we learned more about our Earth and our Moon. Our Earth is so special in the solar system! The temperatures are just right for us to live. We get heat and energy from the Sun that keeps plants growing to feed us. We learned that our Earth has many layers that we cannot see normally. We live on our Earth's crust and our homes sit on that crust. Underneath our crust is three other layers including the mantle, the inner and outer core. Deep down inside the Earth is very hot. We have one Moon here on Earth and our Astronauts have visited it long ago!

 Hello Aliens, Today we learned about Uranus and Neptune! They are the last two planets in our solar system! They are gas giants just like Jupiter and Saturn. Uranus is special because it is on its side. One side of the planet has the daytime and the other nighttime for very long periods of time. Both planets have rings and many moons. We do not know much about either planet because only one probe has visited each planet. Maybe you can visit them for us! Both planets are beautiful blue but Uranus also has some green in it too! Jupiter and Saturn

 Hello Aliens, Today we started learning about the gas giant planets in the solar system! Jupiter is the first of the gas giant planets. It has a storm on it that has been there for so many years! It its the largest planet in our solar system. We cannot land a spaceship on Jupiter and Saturn because they are made of gas.  We also learned about Saturn! Saturn has beautiful rings that we can see from a telescope. Its rings are made of ice and rock. It also has so many moons! Jupiter also has many moons and has rings too!  Miss Kettering's class

Mars and Asteroids

 Hello Aliens, Today we learned about the planet Mars! We learned that it gets its red color from the iron in its dirt. This is also in our blood and it is why our blood is red. The largest volcano in the solar system is also located on Mars. We have a rover on Mars right now called Perseverance. It is broadcasting pictures and video back here on Earth so that we can better see and learn about that planet. We also learned about asteroids. After the planet Mars there is an asteroid belt. Be careful when you come to visit, there are a lot of space rocks floating around there! Scientists think that all those space rocks were once a planet but for some reason it broke up into many little pieces.  Miss Sarah's class
